Oddly enough
My mother-in-law went in hospital 2 days ago. They put in a pacemaker today. I was tasked with going to her house to care for her cat of 14 years.
This cat is not particularly fond of me as I often get to take him to the vet.
Stopped after work, the cat came bounding (okay, strolling rapidly) across the room. He started rubbing against my leg like I was his long lost buddy.
I get the feeling he really thought it was his mama coming home.
