Oh my god, he actually picked up the glass. What an utter idiot.
When I was at school a kid stole a big lump of either sodium or potassium from the chemistry lab. He decided to fill a sink with hot water and chucked it in. After the explosion the quick thinking of another kid to stick his face under a tap of cold running water apparently saved his sight.
