This is a normal post Is it worth the faff? I keep meaning to give it a crack but when I start considering the hoo-haa with bottling I wonder if it's worth it.
Is there a method to do it all which is difficult to get wrong?

This is a normal post Well worth it, although the initial kit can be bit expensive.
Brewing wine is even cheaper as you don't have to worry about Co2. You need a bin, a kit and bottles.
Beer needs a pressurised barrel which is about £45.
Wine kits are easy but your own country wines are even easier and cheaper. Currently got 2 gallons of nettle wine on the go :)

This is a normal post And does this need to be a clean bin?

This is a normal post Ha! Yeeees, you have to get OCD clean when it comes to brewing
You can get all in one kits, I think.

This is a normal post A pressure barrel isn't necessary if you are ok with low carbonation
I've done very acceptable bitter that was conditioned in demijohns. If you want to bottle and aren't worried about looks you can re-use plastic fizzy drink bottles as long as they're sterile.
