I think he should have gone to Sweden to clear his name.
Sweden is a civilised liberal democracy that has due process and a legitimate criminal justice system. If he's so obviously innocent he would have had no problem clearing his name. The whole 'I'd have been extradited to the USA' I don't buy. If any country in Europe would've extradited him, it would've been the UK.

I wouldn't be so trusting about US intentions or their willingness to nab people on foreign soil, from what I've read
I'm not saying his coming to the UK was a brainy move, but I think he has some legitimate fears of extradition wherever he might be, especially if he's already on remand somewhere. Remember that hacker they wanted extradite and put away for life for leaving a few juvenile easter eggs on the pentagon system. what was his name? Assange's website has been a thousand times more damaging, and these day they don't fuck around
