This is a normal post It is a very strange cultural thing.
As weird as it is, I think it's probably better than our own culture where apologies often have to be demanded from people who then only do so reluctantly and insincerely. I despise the construct "I apologise IF...". Even worse is the "only God can judge me" mentality. On the other hand we have a culture where the press and social media demand apologies from people who have nothing to apologise for. I remember being annoyed when a footballer was photographed on private property having a fag and the headlines were along the lines of 'from hero to zero'. I don't know. There must be some middle way. Here's a piece that changed my opinion on Tim Farron's reticence about homosexuality: blogs.spectator.co.uk/2017/04/tim-farron-great-liberal-witch-hunt/
I still don't like him, or his reticence, but I no longer intend to raise the issue with the hordes of Lib Dem canvassers that are so prevalent in my constituency.

'As god's my judge, I'm innocent.
Judge: He's not, I am. Six months.

This is a normal post It was something to think about
when interviewing the father of a Japanese man beheaded by ISIS militants he apologized for his son creating a distraction. It is culturally appropriate to acknowledge that sadness is everywhere and his own sorrow is no more deserving than another's.

This is a normal post Well ok but
I was going to try and offer a constructive counterpoint, but I've just got back from the pub and I'm well on the way so I'll leave it.
