Saw a bit on the news about this
They'd managed to totally miss the actual story though - preferring to concentrate on the fact that it was making gold, instead of the really fucking impressive bit where both LIGO and GRB detectors worked in conjunction to detect this, so that this source could then be surveyed by an array of telescopes.

I'm a few weeks behind in my New Scientists so wasn't aware they had now matched the light source with the graviational waves
This is big news but it's quite convuluted to explain why
