I liked the way they kept it accurate
by actually showing the virus in its true rotating 3D form, and managed to destroy it using a logic bomb.

It got quite a few things right
Acoustic couplers, pay phone phreaking, social engineering and even that throwaway RISC comment. Not a great film but infinitely better grounded in reality than the likes of CSI.

I loved this film
It captured the era of Cyberpunk, had a great soundtrack, and was campy as all get out. Also, it had Angela's boobs in it. Although she looked a bit like a homeless goth chick, so, eww.

Actually viewing a program or network in 3d would make it more understandable. Our brains work in 3D.
Saw an interview with Stephen Hawkings where he works out complex maths by making them into geometric shapes in his head.

but computer viruses simply aren't 3d spiders crawling through your microchips.
They're usually just bits of code, the same as all the other bits of code on the machine. Half of which is actually code to render its data to the screen in a format that we all understand.
