Kubrick:One-Point Perspective
I didn't even think about how much he used this type of shot in his films. Even if you don't like Kubrick this is really rather lovely.

I'd never thought about it, either.
Now I won't be able to watch one of his films without looking out for it!
Thanks, I think.

Am I being drunk (I am but ignore that) or isn't every camera shot from a one point perspective?
the clip is more about Kubrick's use of symmetry and a centred viewpoint/area of action
Lovely compilation though, and always nice to hear Mr Mansell

I think that's
pretty much the definition of one point perspective. Symmetrical and a centered viewpoint.

but you can have a one point perspective that is off centre

You are both right.
Why not get in touch with the video maker and get him to make one with all off-centre one point perspective?

[
scrolls down a bit] 4 point perspective??
Worm's eye view and bird's eye view at the same time??
I wonder why there's no accompanying pic.

I think you can take 2PP pictures
It depends on the direction the camera is facing relative to a wall, for example. The poster frame for that video illustrates it well: the wall that Dave is walking towards is parallel to the plane of the image. I guess if you had the camera looking up/down at something that wouldn't be 1PP.
Then again, you're not the only drunk one.

Lovely indeed
Unfortunately marred by that damned music. Somehow I can't imagine Kubrick ever using anything like it. With that said, you've given me an excuse to re-watch A Clockwork Orange, so have a click.

The requiem for a dream soundtrack is similarly interesting
in that it's in bloody EVERYTHING.
