Army daysI was in the army, carrying a fucking ton of kit on my back in my bergen. We were climbing some shitty hill in the back and beyond of Scotland. It was cold, wet, windy...and generally piss.
We climbed to the top of this hill, and took a rest in one of the elephant nests (read big dry-stone-dyke in a circle) and all of a sudden the clouds disappeared.
It was one of the most clear nights I have ever seen. I lay there, out the wind, out the rain, dry kit on, a mug of tea in my hands and lay and looked at the stars for about 20 mins.
Gorgeous, through and through.
