Just south of the borderMy great aunt, Irish born and bred, came from a little town just south of the border, where a non-white face was just about never seen in her 80+ years there. She didn't trust black people. But on her last trip to the UK, she saw a mixed race man.
"Oh, he's not as bad," she said.
I cringed once again.
