Debt is a game of silly buggers
@ emvee:

I work for one of the biggest credit referencing agencies in the country and ur way of "building" a credit record up - altho gud in theory - doesnt work.

Credit scoring works like this: to get credit you have to be in debt.. ironically. DONT use store cards - go straight to your own bank and get a credit card. Use it as you would a bank card but NEVER spend more than 30% of your available credit. Pay on time, theres no point in paying early it doesnt really help. make sure u also never miss a mobile phone bill & if you have a overdraft DONT use it.

everytime you apply for credit you have a 'footprint' on your account - the more applcations for credit - the worse your record becomes; because it looks like your desperate for money. these drop off after 12 months so if you're having dificulty getting credit at the moment, wait for 12 months then try again, chances are that you will get what you need - which is lots of interest free dosh!

Also, ignore any store card offer, even if you save 10% on what ever you are buying because even if you just use it the once and then pay it off it stays on your record for 6 YEARS.

Hope thats cleared a bit up... FYI i know all this because i used 2 be in SERIOUS debt trouble but i have managed to pull myself around and even now i still have a 'poor' credit rating hehe

Mowbli fun
A couple of interesting ones:

With my current mobile contract I get 1250 tx's 1000 free minutes, free gprs, and free calls sat-sun-mon - with a free nokia n95, and £180 cash back all for £20 a month. to get something like this, you have to ring the cancellations department when you want to renew- and tell them you want to go elsewhere, make up some obsurd deal that orange/vodafone/o2 etc have offered you and the one your current provider is offering is abit poo. 9 times out of 10 they will do anything to keep you on board!

another scam that me and a few friends tried was to invoice really huge companies (Shell, BT, Enron... well ok, not enron, they have no money). Not for particularly large amounts, but just make up a company name, and invoice them for "service charge" or something for £56.38 or relatively obscure, and if you choose the REALLY large companies they will pay no questions asked because they receive THOUSANDS of invoices.... It worked on about 4 companies if i remember.

And also, about the car-park 1... u will generally find that you will need 2 pay no matter what, so if you;ve been in town all day and you should be paying 80p an hour then go to the entrance get a new ticket, pay for just 1 hour and leave with that one. therefore saving you about £5 a day!

» Road Rage

im generally the tw@ who will over take u just for the sake of over takin u
I have a very quick car, I aint gonna mention what it is cuz all i'l get is "hur hur hur my ***insert sum chaved up corsa/saxo*** is faster than that"

but anyways, I have 1 question to all these cyclists... if you hate cars and buses so much. Who the F*CK is going to pay for the roads if we weren't here?

I think you should only be allowed an opinion about other peoples driving... no scrub that... u shud only be ALLOWED on the road if u pay for it.

I stump up £200+ per year alone just so i can drive to work, and ur moanin cuz u might get cut up? but its ok to jump red lights, ride on the wrong side, not indicate?

How cum if u want to drive u need a licence and tax but if ur on a bike in the eyes of the law ur almost god like and will NEVER be prosecuted for not havin insurance if u cause an accident.
