: STRING SPIDER WEB
Kids make installation art at school
A few days ago Bananaman and some friends stole
a ball of string from their school. Rather than
set it on fire, as you or we might, they decided
to do something creative with it.
So they span a gigantic web in their school. We
wish our school days had been as much fun.

: RETURN OF THE VIKING KITTENS
Gay Bar by Electric Six
Joel Veitch is the Internet's Mr Kitten. He'll
hate us for saying that because he's worried
about becoming pigeon-holed. Ha! But if he'll
keep on producing kittens what else are we going
to say?
This one has a fantastic tune though. We've
been jumping around B3ta HQ shouting "Girl, I
wanna take you to a gay bar" for a few days
now.

: DOG CAM
Chasing pups with cameras
Last week we gave you pigeon cam - where a b3ta
person connected a camera to a remote control
car and chased pigeons. This week? It's dogs.
The best bit? The mutt seems to really enjoy it.
(Thanks dex.)

: WHAT B3TA PEOPLE HAVE BEEN MAKING THIS WEEK
Mobile Phone Hacking, Old Jokes and Glockenspaz
>> Silly Mobile Phone Hack <<
Poor old Nik Roope. We were in the pub with him
over a year ago and he had a new toy: he'd
connected up his old Bakelite phone handset to
his Nokia and actually got it to work. And then
what? He forgot to put the photos on the web
and was beaten to the punch by a student at
MIT university with the same idea. Don't worry
Nik - we know you're telling the truth.

>> Xylophone with a difference <<
Taiwanese writes - "I've made something
slightly offensive and pretty stupid. You might
like it." We do. We name it The Xylomong.

>> Where old jokes go to die <<
Dogbomb has been collecting cheesy old jokes
and retelling them from the mouths of fleas.
If you fancy a few groans then check it out.

: SITES IN BRIEF
Stuff we like that wasn't made by our mates.
>> Name that tune <<
Does what it says on the tin. Plays a tune
and you have to name it. Absolutely
compelling though, we could play it for
hours.

>> Corner shop Cooking <<
Cooking can be a load of dull crap. Who's got
time to buy buffalo mozzarella and artichoke
hearts? What about the cooking you could
do with the ingredients found in your local
corner shop? It's the writers attention to
detail on his pot noodle preparation that
sold us this site. He finds the poetry
in MSG.

>> Fan Letters to Pornstars <<
Pornstars attract weird fans. No surprise there,
but it's still fun to laugh at thickos. These
guys have made some MP3s of them reading out
the letters in a rather formal manner. We
liked the one marked "another one (580K)"
best.

>> Circle Line Party <<
Spacehijackers are holding a party on the
London underground on the 14th of March.
They plan to take over a carriage and "corrupt
peoples future experience of the Circle Line,
as the memory of the party will recur each
time they use the train." Brilliant idea,
shame that the site doesn't tell us where
to meet them.

: B3TA IMAGE CHALLENGE
Results from the Robot Challenge
Each week we run a competition to test your
creative skills. We set a challenge and you
open Photoshop and mess with our tiny minds.
http://b3ta.com/challenge/robots/
We asked B3ta boarder 'mrcookieface' to judge
the entries - here are his 3 faves.
Mr Cookieface writes -
#1 "Ever Since I was a Kid - Because my Dad was
a robot driver, and even though he slaved his
whole life making sure the robots were on time
every morning, he still made time for us.
(Mystery Bob)
http://www.b3ta.com/board/871413
#2 "Benjamin - Very clever, and who doesn't
think Anne Bancroft has nice legs? Lucky
little robot. (StinkyCheeseMan)
http://www.b3ta.com/board/867233
#3 "Robby's Star Had Fallen - simply because
one of those would look fabulous in my living
room" (Sosumi)
http://www.b3ta.com/board/863513
"I'd also like to add that all of Mystery
Bob's entries deserved to win: consistently
original and very well done, he gets wild
applause."
>> This Weeks Challenge <<
This week, B3ta contributor Bovine gave us
the suggestion, "Portents of the Apocalypse"

: STAR IN NEXT WEEK'S ISSUE
Make something cool and tell us about it. If
you are in it then people will see your stuff.
Things we'd really like to see include
* SCULPUTRES MADE OF STOLEN SIGNPOSTS - have
you got a back garden? Then use it.
* CUTTING HEDGES INTO RUDE SHAPES - you know
that trimmer thing in the shed? It can do
more than trim. It can sculpt huge bushy
penis.
* HUGE WICKER KITTENS - that would get people
talking. Maybe you could fill it full of
kittens and burn it? No. That would be
wrong. Would be impressive though. Argh.
We're torn.
(Oh we still want your web stuff too.)

been featured then don't be put off - we look
