with the fact it isnt fully operational? i've only seen each of the 3 star wars films once, and havent seen the 2 new ones, so i've no idea what the board's on about half the time

The last one stank to high hell.
But the originals are a part of my childhood, therefore, no matter how bad I cannot dislike them. For someone my age, to not have seen them would be blasphemy.
I can remember seeing the ORIGINAL Star Wars in a theatre in Hawaii as a child.

when they go to attack the new deathstar in Jedi, the Rebels (good guys) don't think it's in working order, so they assume they'll be safe (well, safer than if they tried attacking when it was fully working!)
