# harry hill/sun hill pun!!
:-)
(, Wed 17 Sep 2003, 22:23, archived)
# Well nobody else made it
so I claimed it. Nothing cheap about that.

As for those images then there is nothing to work out the bloke is a bit twisted if you look at the entire series.

# that's
oddly disturbing.. that link

any clue as to the person posting them?
(, Wed 17 Sep 2003, 22:29, archived)
# I don't thing so
but what worries me further is his username is Grisly Remains which paints and even darker picture of this guy.

# Sometimes
the internet really freaks me out :(
(, Wed 17 Sep 2003, 22:33, archived)
# It totally freaks me out
Viruses, porn spam, spyware. Shit it ain't safe to stay at home and surf.
(, Wed 17 Sep 2003, 22:35, archived)
# hehe :)
yeah.. but.. well, sorry to be so introspective and hummus-less, but see my postie just below :(

# It always freaks me out
Goaste, Badgers, Mushrooms, Nullo's

# none whatsoever.....
we were all quite concerned.... The person joined last night.

# it's odd, you know...
there's something like goatse which is all "eww" and nasty, and you think 'bottom of the barrel been found here then!' and yet, there is still a faint something of a disgusting laugh about it.

then there's this. is it just me, or is that kinda thing a different league... makes my skin crawl a little.. it hints rather than pummels your face in it, and i find that really scary.
(, Wed 17 Sep 2003, 22:38, archived)
# Goatse is an adults arse
that is just scary
(, Wed 17 Sep 2003, 22:41, archived)
# yeah exactly,
I think its the fact that the pics themselves were pretty much totally innocent, but we all kind of read the same deeper meaning into it that makes it a bit disturbing...
(, Wed 17 Sep 2003, 22:43, archived)
# I think the guy is
messing with our minds. The whole point of this website is humour, but I see no humour in those images and then you have to look deeper. If we beat ourselves up for seeing monsters where there is nothing but innocence then the real monsters will simply pass right before our disbelieving ours.
(, Wed 17 Sep 2003, 22:49, archived)
# yeah
I know this is b3ta and most of us, at one time of another have bought our tickets to hull :) ....

but you always know a b3tan's joking... if a lot of us had that reaction of 'oh my god' then something's not right...

*shrugs* just another way b3ta feels special :)
(, Wed 17 Sep 2003, 22:51, archived)
# Yeah absolutely
Humour is sometimes a strange thing that seems to have little form, but you know when something is humourous. The Goons were groundbreaking in their time so was Monty Python and even though no one seemed to understand where the humour came from they still laughed at it. This stuff by Grisly Remains is genuinely disturbing - if you can't find the humourous side of it it is because there is no humourous side to it.
(, Wed 17 Sep 2003, 22:58, archived)
# ha! pearoast
(, Wed 17 Sep 2003, 22:31, archived)
# I like that. :)
But I was called a c**t for reposting, which is a bit unfair as it seem very prevalent.
(, Wed 17 Sep 2003, 22:34, archived)
# seems a bit harsh, considering
suppose it depends on where and how old ...
(, Wed 17 Sep 2003, 22:36, archived)
# Well I reposted something a did
from the day before but as I posted it in the morning I thought I'd give the evening mob a bit of a laugh, not so everybody did a complete moody on me.
(, Wed 17 Sep 2003, 22:38, archived)
# general rule of thumb
if your going to pearoast, then do it in an existing thread...preferably one relating to the pic
(, Wed 17 Sep 2003, 22:43, archived)
# some people
get touchy about their images attracting anything but praise in the replies - they're usually not representative of the typical b3tan though. most people are happy to get replies of any kind, and if someone has something similar they can reply with then so much the better

however, if you'd reposted in a new thread, that can get more people's backs up, again for no good reason but that is covered in the FAQ as being a "bad thing"
(, Wed 17 Sep 2003, 22:36, archived)
# I would say
reposts in new threads are generally bad.

Not terribly keen on reposts from a few hours earlier, either ...
(, Wed 17 Sep 2003, 22:40, archived)
# I hadn't read the FAQ at that time
and as everybody else seemed to do it and in new threads I thought it was a board standard. I didn't have any negative responses and I wasn't looking for a better response only to allow others the chance to see the cartoon again. I shan't ever repost again, but I certainly believe no matter how bad you think reposting is does it really deserve being called a c**t for - If anybody said that to my face I would rip them to pieces.
(, Wed 17 Sep 2003, 22:42, archived)
# go for it
it might help calm people down a bit around here

as has been mentioned, people learn by example - if that's what you'd seen, it's obvious you'd have assumed it was standard practice. sadly, people get sworn at, then assume that is standard practice...

glad you're still here and going strong :)
(, Wed 17 Sep 2003, 22:50, archived)
# I was determined not to let it upset me
so I got stuck into some new cartoons instead.
(, Wed 17 Sep 2003, 22:53, archived)
# Arf
hadnt seen that before
