Someone has already shopped exactly the same picbut that doesn't matter, because I like it.
EDIT: oh and, you can usually trim the border thing. You may have a larger canvas than your pic, which will look invisible while editing, but show up on the finished item.

you can do it with gif as wellbut you have to be really really pernickity... set the transparency and gamut to "small" and "dark" then go in very close and take out any hint of whiteness... then save as .gif, and tick "transparent"... the filesize is usually a lot smaller than with .png

Use the magic wand on the white area, then delete.After that, the blank space should have checker marks, which will be the transparant area.
