# Not everywhere.
(, Tue 13 Apr 2004, 11:25, archived)
# Indeed. But why would you be anywhere else?
America: Olsen twins not legal for 2 years.
UK: Olsen twins legal now.
Switzerland: Olsen twins legal 4 years ago.

You do the math (as Americans are, I have been led to believe, wont to say).

# the swiss age of consent is 12?
omg... that's sick..

# This is a vague memory,
but I think it's still statutory rape if there's more than a 2 year age-gap between partners -- ie, you're not prosecuting 16 year-old-boys for knocking 14-year-old girls, but it's a different story if they're nobbed by their maths teacher.

Quite sensible really.

# Interesting

tis quite sensible, stops all the peado's going over and ruining the knife industry with their inferior craftmanship

# You say sick, I say superb
Isn't it 13 or something in Utah as well? Mormons or something...
(, Tue 13 Apr 2004, 11:40, archived)
# Yeah different rules for mormons.
They can have as many wives as they want or summat like that. So legal sex with 13 year olds for them wouldn't suprise me at all.
(, Tue 13 Apr 2004, 11:43, archived)
# they're 18 on june 13th 2004
not that i've been counting the days...
(, Tue 13 Apr 2004, 11:36, archived)
# They're nearly 18!!!!
Still not interested.
(, Tue 13 Apr 2004, 11:36, archived)
# They're 2 days younger than me
get in. If only I could meet them! Wouldn't say no to both.

# Right
That's it, I'm off to switzerland RIGHT NOW.

Yay to the land of vertical scenery and really-young-age-of-consent sex
(, Tue 13 Apr 2004, 11:37, archived)
# Only if you're within N years of their age (where N = 2 or 3 IIRC).
It's a sensible law (ie, we won't criminalise children for experimenting with their sexuality but we will target paedophiles).
Oh, and we give people sex education from an early enough age to let them make informed decisions. I think they also have the lowest incidents of teenage pregnancy in any european country.

(although I thought it was Sweden, rather than Switzerland myself).

# Wasn't there a website with a Charlotte Church
16th birthday countdown?

I seem to remember the Daily Mail was appalled (and illustrated its appalledness with a picture of her cleavage).
(, Tue 13 Apr 2004, 11:28, archived)
# i think
that was in the same edition where they were calling out for channel 4 to be banned after the brasseye pedo special

BURN DAILY MAIL!!! BURN!!!!!
(, Tue 13 Apr 2004, 11:30, archived)
# The Daily Star was funnier

Same with their stance on Coronation St's "sick sex scene" as their owner starts a new gay porn channel.
