i remember something of physicsand the speed of light not being constant, i think i read it in new scientist.that and all the addendums to the theory of relativity.

Well ...the speed of light changes according to the media it's passing through ... ie it is faster in air than water, and fastest in a vacuum.
Quantum mechanics has an adjustor that makes the energy of a body or particle tend towards invinity as it approaches the speed of light.
But all this is pure speculation, as I think physics is fundamentally flawed and made over complicated by people with too much imagination and time (who also don't want to bother with external factors, such as density variance of space-time etc)
