I wonder how those things work.
If they were made with equilateral triangles, the dome would be flat. If they were made with slightly pointed triangles grouped into hexagons, with the points pointing to the middle to make very shallow pyramids, the dome would still be flat.

They're not euclidean triangles.

They can made with slightly pointed triangles grouped in fives
to make very flat pyramids with pentagonal bases, which are then joined together by equilateral triangles.
But in that picture they are grouped in sixes. Which makes no sense. But I'm sure I've seen domes with them grouped in sixes, too.
