Eric Wujkic's ( i think thats not spelt right) early TMNT work was definetely not for kids. Mucho violence. When it was turned into a kids cartoon, it was decided that "Ninja" was a bad word, and "Hero" would be better to make four turtles living in a sewer and talking to a large rat a role model for children.

edit: spent a large portion of my early teens playing Hereos unlimited, and TMNT roleplay. The shame.

that they are being remade. they are going to be a lot darker and more menacing, they will be more true to the origonal design. they will also be renamed back to Ninja Turtles.
