of the compo images are berrating sony, I really don't think it's the best campaign they could got for £100.

and his hits album stayed at number one for quite a while, so yes, I suspect he might be actually.

He didn't release it.
Whoever owns the rights to his crap released it. They are trying to get the money from sales while they still can - they know he's gonna be convicted. Even if he escapes conviction, his reputation is tarnished beyond repair now and they can never hope to get the sales he could once achieve.
It's just the bigwigs trying to squeeze the last few drops out of him while he still has supporters.

that there is a lot of 'alternative' credibility in mimicking the subversion of their brand* - makes them look cooler
