# I think most people are being quite mean about him
He is clearly intelligent for his age, but also has an illness, the name of which I forget but I believe contributes to his weight.

# I agree.
I for one am being quite mean about him. I'm quite astonishingly good looking, but was an ugly child and wouldn't have put myself on national television in tartan trousers, I can tell you.

that's what it is called.

# I don't think that's related to being fat though.
Although he may have something else as well

# frickwit
That's a mild(ish) form of Autism.

# and Autism leads to compulsive behaviour
and probably because of reduced social inclusion
(, Sun 22 May 2005, 21:45, archived)
# they tend not to eat too much, I've observed
yes
Aspergers = fat = debatable

It's a very broad spectrum of disease. You can't categorise.

# No, I think he does have that, he was in the news
But I doubt that's related to his weight. Or for that matter his trousers

# Arse burgers
is not just mild autism, it is a serious condition which vastly affects the brain's ability to see which things are important and to escape egocenticity.

Arse burgers does not however force the victim to dress like a cunt and eat lard.

Trust me, I know a lot about arse burgers.

# Aspergers is thought to be on the milder side of the spectrum of autism
but then, I've not looked at the field since 2000, and I'm not going to research it again just now.

# Asperger's is one of those tenuous diseases like ADHD
that was invented to excuse children for being social misfits.

# sorry - John's not mad
but there is evidence for a genetic basis for it.

That's like saying Tourette's is just an exuse for children with filthy mouths

# Tourette's, I believe in
having watched some brain surgery in which a prod with an electrode in a sensitive area made the patient swear (or sometimes giggle).
Who's John?
By the way, I excuse people for being social misfits automatically, without feeling the need to invent diseases to make it acceptable.

# Dear Editor of The Lancet
It's ok, Felix believes in Tourette's, you can now stick it in your medical journals and stuff. The jury's still out on Autism though so just wait a few months.

# I mean what I'm saying
and have thought about it. Also, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying being a social misfit is a bad thing by any means, only that these spurious diseases are excuses invented for the comfort of parents and teachers.

Oh, and also, I don't deny the condition exists, and may be a bad thing. I just deny that it's a disease.

# Overfed = could be seen as abuse by parents,
That kid'll be diabetic and have a fucked heart thanks to them.
He's now going to be bullied, and it'll be a fucker for him to lose the weight. He'll get a complex about it.

And he thinks he looks cool in daddy's kilt.

could be seen as abuse by the parents too.

..it's Prader Willi Syndrome (if that's how you spell it) where the sufferer has an insatiable appetite. Most sufferers are also overweight. Still a clever kid though, so that could cancel it out, cos sufferers are also supposed to be mentally challenged (but not total retards)
