Still trying to draw and it keeps going wrong, look!

I seemed to change style about sixteen times and I couldn't even start drawing the nose or mouth!
I can't really draw people you see. All my previous efforts have been done by tracing the positions of the features from photographs.
Waaargh!

I tried and it was HIDEOUS. Can someone please tell me how to draw noses and mouths? I never can :(

for the nose, a vertical line
for the mouth, a sort of "O" shape, with little squares for teeth
DO IT!

why so much trouble with the nose?
i admit mouths can be hard... the key is to figure out what you actually need an outline for, and what you dont

The New Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain by Betty Edwards.
It's a very, very good book, and will improve your drawing immensely.
(I posted this as a reply earlier, but that went into the archive, but it really is a great book for improving drawing by leaps and bounds...)

"If you loved me, you'd buy me this book..."
:D
It's truly an excellent book, and is all about drawing what things REALLY look like, rather than what you think they do - which is the problem most people who 'can't draw' have. You're good as it is, but this will help you build better habits and get rid of bad old ones. It works a treat, and the results are very quick.
