Google knows who the victor is, the micro$0ft monkeys.
This post was created using The Gimp. Just like to point out, my post didn't cost a photoshop licence, it was done using free software.

blimey you`re a bit of a geek!
you should have a look at Smarty PHP templating for your site - quite nice, and you can "cache" bits of the content to minimise database trips

full respect for having the patience to use the gimp to make anything
it drives me nuts, so I`m happy to have photoshop elements (50-60 quid) and you can run it under wine!

I do have a hooky copy of PS7 also, but after buying Flash (+the rest of Macromedia Studio), I`m broke, and will be for the next year or so

Strangely, monkeys will beat penguins,
but a penguin with a stick will beat a monkey in a tank.

only discovered it through my crazy mate who probably wants to have sex with Frank Zappa`s corpse
I`ve never heard an album like it, and probably not likely to.. the first 5 or 6 listens were just to get over the "what the fuck?" factor!

back in the day
i used to use psp4-5 heaps... was really nice, gimp isnt the best thing out, but given the choice between paying for something and using something else thats free, but could be done a little differently i choose free.
especially when you can submit bugs and talk directly with the authors of the software, thats a huge bonus.
gimp has stuff like splash screen compos and stuff that you just dont get with other programs, its a real community effort.
