# if you don't want to get caught by a speed camera
don't speed.

# agreed!
stop breaking the law and they won't take a penny off you
(, Thu 15 Jun 2006, 11:26, archived)
# Yeah!
we should all take out attention off the road and watch our speedometers instead! Well said!

# If you know what you're doing
you can tell your speed without looking at the speedo.

/is clever.

# I can never stop looking at
speedos when I'm driving
(, Thu 15 Jun 2006, 11:28, archived)
# Tis true
if you're behind a Micra, you'll be travelling at exactly 22mph, well within the speed limit.
MOVE GRANDMA GODAMNIT!

# My old Micra used to do 100mph
and it was a 1 litre job

FACT!

# I borrowed my better half's Micra once,
only got it doing 100 downhill on the M25 between junctions 2 and 3. Although, those things are light as anything, and you can rag it about town. It's about the driver, not the car.

# If you can't manage to keep an eye on your speed and pay attention to the road at the same time
you shouldn't really be driving...
(, Thu 15 Jun 2006, 11:29, archived)
# Yes ^this
If you're driving so fast that you can't concentrate on the road and your instruments and other road users, you're going too fast, no matter what the speed limit says.
(, Thu 15 Jun 2006, 11:32, archived)
# what?!
I assume you haven't been driving long
(, Thu 15 Jun 2006, 11:32, archived)
# you should be able to do more than one thing when you're driving
you're obviously RUBBISH at driving.
(, Thu 15 Jun 2006, 11:35, archived)
# ^this
That is all.
(, Thu 15 Jun 2006, 11:26, archived)
# When you get your car
you'll hate them like the rest of us :)
I'm assuming you still haven't got a car
(, Thu 15 Jun 2006, 11:27, archived)
# that's not true
and don't be so patronising
(, Thu 15 Jun 2006, 11:29, archived)
# Wasn't meant to be patronising at all
hence the :) Was merely taking an an interest as to whether TUTT had got her car yet. New drivers have to be careful nowadays, 6 points in your first 2 years and you lose your licence, that's only two tickets over 24 months.

# yes, it's a good point
but please don't speak for everyone in your opinions, I happen to disagree with you and so do some other people here.
(, Thu 15 Jun 2006, 11:37, archived)
# My god!
It was a light hearted comment.
"but please don't speak for everyone in your opinions, I happen to disagree with you and so do some other people here" that line is pure comedy.
I knew there was a reason I didn't normally come on during the day. Your self-importance is making me want to go and do some work. :(

# bye bye
have fun
(, Thu 15 Jun 2006, 11:45, archived)
# ^ this
i love those ads for camera-avoiding stuff - "it's not for those naughty people who speed it's for law abiding citizens who just sometimes creep over the limit" - just watch your fucking speed!
(, Thu 15 Jun 2006, 11:27, archived)
# Quite right too
Well said *applauds*
(, Thu 15 Jun 2006, 11:28, archived)
# must protest...
to a certain extent... thre's a town in northumberland where the cameras are pointing out over... so they are there to catch you as you speed up to 60mph instead of catching u speeding as u enter the town (for safety reasons!!)
its all poo
(, Thu 15 Jun 2006, 11:31, archived)
# are you accelerating up to 60 before the actual derestricted section though?
(thats where I got caught the one time I was done for speeding)
(, Thu 15 Jun 2006, 11:36, archived)
# i didn't get caught...
... but you've proved my point...

The camera is placed well out of the town... but how can it be classed as being there for safety reasons if its pointing out over... Shirley it would be better to have it pointing in over to catch people driving to fast IN THE TOWN!
