# I'm sorry
but did we have to a compo with a political message? Surely doing a compo for someone else makes b3ta a bunch of sell out corporate whores- nevermind that it is someone like Greepeace that are the benificiaries.

# er
we're not being paid and the board voted for it.
(, Fri 31 Jan 2003, 12:25, archived)
# Thing is
if was just "world peace" I'd be happier, but the Greenpeace connection annoys me in fundamnetal ways. I think I'lljust try and ignore it, but I really don't reckon the Greenpeace are anywhere near this planet.

# 'Scuse me
but someone with your name said the other day
a) "this isn't a political board," and
b) "if the BBC wants your work they can buy a fucking advert in the newsletter"

Double standards?

# yep
but check my vote in the challenge ... I didn't vote for it, but now that it's been selected I'll support it fully.

# I didn't vote either way
'cause I'm a sad sack - guess that goes to show the power of apathy eh?

At least you are a man with principles, which has to be respected. :-)
(, Fri 31 Jan 2003, 12:46, archived)
# it's principles of a sort
there would be no point having a vote if me / pep / cal just vetoed it if we prefered something else.

# From The B3ta mods?
never

# No-one's forcing you
to enter the comp.
(, Fri 31 Jan 2003, 12:26, archived)
# nobody actually said
you had to make it political... it says Photoshop for worldpeace... you could just ignore the fact that it was asked for by Greenpeace... but there were also a lot of other people who asked for this challenge indepently of greenpeace.. me for one!

if you no like, just ignore!

# and it'snot like the challenge is going to dominate the posts
they rarely do - expect for Friday arvo, of course.

Interpret as you wish, and Tattyshop away. If the path to peace for you includes sticking a patriot missile up Saddam's arse, then go for it.
(, Fri 31 Jan 2003, 12:47, archived)
# Grenpeace weren't the only people who suggested
Tattying for world peace. Wanting to live in a peaceful world isn't a political act, you prat. And besides, even if it was, so fucking what?

# Too
heavy man - keep it fluffy.

I'm curious.

# greenpeace once paid me £400 for 5hrs work
they'd made a power point presentation. It was 40MB in size. They couldn't understand why it wouldn't play on the laptop ... I had an exciting afternoon resizing bitmaps.

# I've worked for Greenpeace too
but their rates weren't as good back then.
(, Fri 31 Jan 2003, 12:32, archived)
# this was back then
97 I think. It was a last minute thing. They were presenting to lots of people so they opened their cheque book and I happily took their money.
(, Fri 31 Jan 2003, 12:34, archived)
# I did some artwork for them
back in the mid-eighties. They didn't have quite as much money then, but Greenpeace has always had a corporate financial structure.

# they're bloody huge
I think much of the money comes from Germany.
