Hmm.Honestly, I don't see the problem, it's no worse than any number of feeble bandwagons and memes that people go for. And even if I did dislike it that much, I'd probably just go somewhere else for a bit, or make pics on a different subject, or have a cup of tea, rather than moan about it. The moaning is worse than the slightly feeble pics. I mean, come on, life is short, there's better things to spend you time on than complaining about the image competition on a novelty picture website. Like, say, digging a series of small holes in your lawn to represent the first twenty digits of the Fibonacci series. Or sorting all your pasta into weight order. Or just staring blankly into space and dribbling. Or replying to people who complain about the image competition on a novelty picture website.
