I'm sorry to TJ, but I really am at the end of my tether- does anyone know their way around wireless and sorting it all out?

But not the new laptop. It can see it's there, but won't connect to it.

It can see that the wireless is there
but won't connect to it.
Obviously this computer will, but then it's wired to it. And the Wii's never had a problem with it.

Hmm
My intensive IT Technician training is coming in handy now.
Sounds like your router isnt allowing wireless connections. Wire your laptop to it, go into your browser and type 192.168.1.1, then fiddle with the settings in there.

But if it wasn't allowing wireless connections
wouldn't it block the wii?
I'm only asking now, I shall do that later but if I do that then this computer goes offline and I need to make sure I know what's going on.
Thanks so much for your help, by the way.

You could try disabling the security on the router
and seeing if it'll let you connect then.
Also, look for driver updates.
