it does make sence tho...
if 5 people going to roughly the same place get in the same car, and each pay £1, then it'll decrease congestion and pollution at hardly any cost to the public

i disagree
not with the charge in principle, but it is a regressive tax, hits the poor harder. I belive to be fair(er) it should be charged per litre vehicle - i'll argue with anyone who says mums in SUVs aren't the bane of many congested areas.

maybe
and you can call me daft on this one....maybe its because after paying the road tax,mot and a rather hefty tax on petrol that they feel just a little fed up of being asked to use roads they have already been asked to fork up 3 times for already....

pedant...
MOT is a test of the road worthiness of your car, not a tax as such. Although you do have to pay for the test once a year.

Okay
maybe i`m not 100% right about the mot but if ya gonna charge people to use the roads its either tolls or road tax..not both thats just being greedy....

I love the phrase 'Stealth Tax'
...I have this mental picture of ministers in ninja outfits, sneaking bills under peoples pillows at night.
In fact, can we call it a 'Ninja Tax' from now on?

It was only a cheap joke...
...I live 400 miles away from London and so does my car.
He can introduce as many charges as he likes as it doesn't really affect me (until April probably).
