I suspect you'd actually be disappointed nowadays
unless you have kids readily available to enjoy it with.
I did the same thing with lego though, I have a massive collection now.

I never did :(
But I always enjoyed playing with them when we visited the ELC for some reason. Generally *not* to buy me a train set clearly...

I was like that with the yellow and red 'car' that you sat in and moved Flintstone style with your feet
It was one of the toys you could try if you went into our local ELC and my mum always told me we could go in 'on the way back, if you're good'. She admitted a few years ago that she took advantage of my young age and relative lack of direction to always take me home a different route, regardless of behaviour :(
