# ha!
I find this whole compo to be in really bad taste, but that is funny, in an evil sort of way.

# Good taste and b3ta
seems to be absurd in my head!

# I think american sensibilities about this sort of thing just tend to be different
not that there is a "right" sort of sense of humor to have about this kind of thing, just that mine is probably bound to be different than most of the board.

# Do you make
pornography out of legos like i do? That always humors me
(, Sun 30 Mar 2003, 7:00, archived)
# don't you find getting the bricks clean afterwards takes ages
though?
(, Sun 30 Mar 2003, 7:01, archived)
# hah!
I just meant that it isn't that funny to me, but I can see why it would be to others.

# I just thought
maybe one week we could have a challenge where everyone is only allowed to submit 3 (5 maybe) pictures for it and they aren't told what the challenge is.
So they can try and be as vague or as precise as they like and then on Thursday entries are closed and there is a vote on what the entries should be judged on (the criteria options are kept secret until Thursday and voting can be all afternoon until midnight, then someone can judge them based on the criteria chosen.

# I like that! but I'm never around when the challenge is decided on anyway
and I still want Dr. Seuss charcters that never made it into print.
(, Sun 30 Mar 2003, 7:11, archived)
# that was another idea i had
to have a challenge voted for by the nighttime people one week, so the americans and aussies and kiwis get to have a say.
(, Sun 30 Mar 2003, 7:13, archived)
# I never knew
that the challenges were voted for. I thought we just did whatever the man told us
(, Sun 30 Mar 2003, 7:15, archived)
# That's what happened this time...
...once a month from now on, the challenge will be set by the management.

The other weeks, board members make suggestions and we all vote on the best half dozen or so.

It's usually between 10 - 11 am on a Friday (GMT)
(, Sun 30 Mar 2003, 7:21, archived)
# I didn't know
about the voting either.....

Morning all - and I now have to add 2 hours to the board time to make it my time. Geesh, I completely forgot that we changed to 'summertime'.... luckily the puter didn't.

# Summer time?
The crazy language barriers that american has to deal with on b3ta :)

# I've gone off the idea of challenges...
...although they inspire some fabulous work, they have a tendency to become repetetive. I hate it when someone spends ages making a picture and they are then told - "It's been done five times already" - which seems to be happening a lot this time.

Maybe a limit on entries would help - people would be less inclined to post any old picture that fits the bill and exercise some quality control.

I'm just as guilty as anyone of posting something I consider to be below par, simply because it fits with the challenge.

# Yeah, but at least they
arn't as bad as the lincoln logs. They are a bastard to clean

# saw them both, replied to one
to the other: I knew what you meant, but I don't really like TV. I'll look for it though.

# It's silly
and quite a few b3tans like it.
Night night.
(, Sun 30 Mar 2003, 7:04, archived)
# night
and yes, TV is silly

but I always prefered things that were in bad taste
