The shark has a pointed nose to help with its hydrodynamics. There are no major sense organs there so it's not very sensitive. You're just asking to have your hand bitten off.
The sensitivity is in the lateral line, but particularly the exposed organs, the eyes and gills. If you want to freak a shark out, go for the gills. Even turtles know this, and can fend off shark attacks (at least in shallow water) by turning and giving a quick snap at the gill area.
