This is a normal post Physical keyboards are much better
for the primary function of these phones - email on the move.
Even if I get a seat on the train, trying to type on a small touch-screen is painfully slow and frustrating. When I had a Blackberry I got so much more done on the train. That may not appeal to you, but I'd suggest in that case that you're probably not their target market.

This is a normal post you might want to give the new swipe typing functionality a go then
you only need a thumb now and it's pretty effective

Microsofts version of the same thing.

This is a normal post Doesn't solve the fundamental problem of a touchscreen keyboard
Which is that the lack of tactile feedback deprives you of one of the senses used when typing fast. I'm aware that there's screens in development which raise bumps over virtual keys, but that's still an inferior solution to a dedicated keyboard.

This is a normal post I prefer a physical keyboard (or using a stylus) if I have to type a large message / email / b3ta post on a phone
but the problem for Blackberry is that their target market is too small / has shrunk

This is a normal post That's not insurmountable
There's a lot of goodwill for Blackberry in the business market as the options for centrally managing other smartphones are still horrible. I mean centrally managing Blackberrys wasn't fun, but its a cakewalk in comparison to keeping a bunch of iPhones and Androids secure.

Blackberry bet the farm on the consumer market and got their arses handed to them. However the core product is still quite possibly the best available in the business sector.

you're living in the past, Blackberry as a company are dead, this "offer" highlights that to the extreme.

This is a normal post that's irrelevant
i follow tech news in order to stay up with the latest information on these companies, I've had every other type of phone and never wanted nor needed a blackberry. They no longer have a place, whether you still require a physical keyboard or not, you're just handicapped sorry ;)

This is a normal post Yeah, all that
There may be many things wrong with Blackberrys, but when I'm on a train back from a meeting or something and I have twenty emails to reply to, there's no fucking way I'm typing them all on a touch screen keypad.
