This is a normal post There shouldn't be a cap on what you earn. It's pointless.
Instead of dragging everyone down to the same level you need to lift people up. The issue free movement created is that with a bottomless pool of low/unskilled labour it's meant the minimum wage is the default wage. To motivate the poorest people it would be better to massively increase the differential between working and not working, a proper living wage where the take home is double that of being on benefits.

This is a normal post Cant really think why you'd cap earnings rather than increase income tax on high earners
Wage caps seem like a blunt instrument too easy to frame as 'anti-aspiration'

Totally agree. Although it might be an idea for the public sector. Lots of failing council bosses are on massive PM wage busting salaries...it can't be right tax or not.

This is a normal post lots of failing councils are failing because of huge cuts to their budgets from central goverment
Important to keep hold of that

This is a normal post The bosses of manchester council gave themselves massive pay rises last year.
They replaced our wheelie bins with ones half the size to save money, and I'm selling my car to buy a moon buggy to cope with the pot holes they can't be arsed to fill.

All the failing councils have to do is start doing fuck all and they will be able to afford huge pay rises and everything :D

This is a normal post Many were failing before cuts and before 2008...
...if cuts were the main cause then the people at the top should take cuts not have "reward for failure" pay rises. At random, but up and down the country it is the same. Cornwall Looking at Cornwall some public servants are on £200,000. Even after tax that is mental.

This is a normal post It's also anti productive.
If an entrepreneur can't take value out of his business through wage/bonus/dividend above a certain cap, what motivates him to expand product ranges which would create more value, wealth and jobs?
