What does he expect Apple to do? They could put a note in the safety part of the manual about not holding a charging phone while you are fully immersed in water, but no-one reads the manual anyway.

I'm baffled by this
As far as i can tell it wasn't the phone that ended up in the drink, it was the charger. The mains charger. Which was apparently plugged in to an extension cable, resting on his chest whilst he was laying in the bath.
I feel like the national average IQ rose quite a lot with his passing.

No kidding! A tragic story but it does bother me that there is any hint of blame being directed at anyone other than the poor, stupid sod that did it.
