This is a normal post I'm living in an area where career chavs make their presence felt daily
so I'm not surprised at the hundreds of flags that pop up when I put my postcode in, mostly anti social behaviour, however equally depressing for entirely different reasons is the place where my parents live, a little village in Selby, essentially if I type in their postcode nothing comes up, really nothing of any importance at all, yet I feel pretty darned safe here, and my parents spend most of their day being afraid of something they imagine is just beyond their net curtains waiting to spring out, I get a lot of odd phonecalls.

The difference? I don't read the redtops. My parents, their friends and pretty much all the folks they talk to, do.

If I ever could sell an idea to some people making documentaries or reality shows or something, I would love to try going to their area and banning delivery of ALL the redtop rags from their newsagents and shops, forcing them to actually look at what a lovely green and delightfully pleasant old fashioned village community they live in, just for a bit, see if things change.

This is a normal post My aunt lives in a tiny, tiny, tiny hamlet in Derbyshire.
The only crime anyone can remember is the bloke from the village up, who stole everyone's lawn mowers. They were spotted in his shed and he returned them.

That didn't stop the old woman over the road from my aunt's from being convinced that she would be burgled and raped in the night. Her solution was to hang a MASSIVE pair of men's underpants on the washing line outside her house to suggest a burly man lived there. Must have worked, 'cos she never got raped or robbed in the 10 or so years those things flapped away in all weather (only to be removed when she died from old age at 90+ years old).
