This is a link post Star Wars Burlesque photos NSFW
From the show in Melbourne I went to. I did not get to take photos this time or I would still be going through them. The Imperial Guard was very intimidating.

This is a normal post It's not so much porn
as a kind of stylistic stripping./dancing. For some reason it seems vaguely socially acceptable, which I'm almost completely ok with.

This is a normal post Me too
Dr sketchy (a burlesque life drawing thing) is a great laugh, and a good way to perve without feeling seedy. About 75% of the class are women.

This is a normal post it's stripping for women who want to pretend they're not stripping, or that they're being ironic
plus munters can take part if they wear a stupid/geeky outfit

This is a normal post To me it's porn.
I don't have any problems with porn at all. But some people do so they dress it up as something else, to pretend it's not porn when it clearly is. Doesn't mean porn is bad, as with anything there's good and bad.
why pretend it's not?

This is a normal post I photographed a behind the scenes
Burlesque Event a couple of years back and to say that some of the girls involved were some of the most arrogant, pretentious, grumpy, unprofessional, self absorbed individuals I've had the mispleasure to photograph is an understatement.

The constantly talked about Dita Von Teese comparing themselves to her whereas the reality was they were just very average looking women with a touch too much cellulite than anyone in that profession should have.

The flipside of this is when I did a promo shoot for a lapdancer bar, the girls were unbelievably beautiful, looked after themselves, very engaging and just really nice people. People look down on them whilst at the same time think Burlesque is art. Fuck off.

This is a normal post Ha!
I make most of my money from photographing grumpy families who'd rather slit your throat than smile for the camera. I get jobs like these probably once or twice a year.

I do get quite a lot of requests for photographing pets though?!

The difference between Burlesque & Lap dancing apart from everything, is how they get paid.
Lap dancers earn money by being nice to creeps, Burlesque dancers don't.
So when a lecherous perv hiding behind the title of "photographer" is told to fuck off by Burlesque girls, the lap dancers will politely smile.

This is a normal post Haha!
I was shooting a behind the scenes (with a set of portraits) of a Burlesque group for their publications so it didn't involve them getting their clothes off, basically just them getting worked on by make up artists. I specialise in portrait and event work so it just means me photographing things as natural as possible. I'm just commenting on what they spoke about and how they treated the make-up artists, which was appallingly.

It was a similar deal with the Lapdancers. I work with the same duo of make up artists and they were treated with nothing but respect and unlike the Burlesque troupe, we're utter professionals in front if the camera.

Just telling it how I saw it and they may possibly be the exception to the rule but the make-up artists said they get it all the time from the burlesque girls they've worked with.

As being called a lecherous perv, I was paid £600 for the burlesque job (not including the make up artists fees) and £900 for the lap dancing job. Not bad for a couple of hours work 'perving' as you put it.
