This is a link post Astonishing stuff from the Delhi bus rapists.
Interview with the rapists and their lawyers as part of a longer programme due to be broadcast this Sunday on BBC4. Indian society sounds truly enlightened :(

This is a normal post Mein Kampf has been a best seller there recently
Supposedly there is a lot of respect for what the author achieved, and they some how think they can distance themselves mentally from what happened.

I haven't read it myself, and assume it is a bit putrid - but I mention this as a barometer for the place.

This is a normal post I just don't get how

This is a normal post My wife wanted to visit India, now she doesn't. Can't think why.
Too many men in a society which considers women as virtually nothing, then add in caste system and this is one of many symptoms.
Remove bollocks and hands with a rusty knife, I say.

This is a normal post I used to love Gandhi's reply when asked what he thought of Western Civilisation...
..which was "I think it would be a good idea"
Now I just find it depressingly ironic.
