This is a normal post We definitely need a way to monitor for security, but the fear is that it will be used against political targets. I think people will only care if a Republican takes office. Then all the anti-war, civil liberties groups will experience a renaissance.
But you can see how a lot of the information is being used already to silence political opponents: Gen. Petraeus disagreed publicly and all of the sudden his affair just happened to be discovered. Tip of the iceberg.
