This is a question Abusing freebies

A friend of mine recently attended a 'Champaign Lunch', where he was compelled drink as much fizzy stuff as he could between the first and last courses. In an ideal world we'd ask restaurant staff to tell us stories about fatties stuffing themselves at All You Can Eat places, but we recognise that our members don't all work in the catering trade, so for the rest of you - tell us something about abusing freebies. BTW: Bee puns = you fail.

Bean bags
Last week B3ta received an email going, "Hello, My name is Andrew & I am the marketing director of Sumo Lounge. Being a fan of your site I would like to ask if you would like a Free Sample in exchange for posting a review."

I said yeah, as maybe the guys who I share an office would like something beany to flop on.

The bag has just turned up. Here's a photo of Wakefield from the office using it to pretend to be a fat mexican.

So how have I abused a freebie? Well, if posting a slapdash entry on this weeks QOTW counts as a review then considered this freebie abused.

Review: Quite nice as bean bags go.

EDIT: To those gazzing me to ask if Wakefield is single, then the answer is no, but he is on b3ta. Other photos from the 'shoot' here and here.

.
But do they come with the beans, do you think? They send them from America, so it seems like it would take up a lot of space on the plane, for just beans. What do you think?

questionablecontent.net
got a very similar e-mail, and Jeph did the same thing - told everybody he'd got a free one in exchane for a review, and half-heartedly reviewed it, summing up with 'sumo beanbags - they're beanbags.'

These people clearly need to rethink their list of 'popular websites' to remove the 'desperate for freebies but never going to sell out websites'.

All publicity is good publicity
I have an extremely unpopular blog (see sig), but I get a good proportion of traffic from b3ta. Even this pissweak "plug" will drive a large number of bored people to click the link - I fell for it and I've got no desire to buy more "furniture". Even if a microscopic proportion of those people bother to buy the bag, hey presto, postage covered.

What I want to know is, how many gazzes did you get inquiring about the hot Asian chick in the other pictures?
