No it's not at all
People want to post and read funny stories on QOTW. The question, as you yourself pointed out at the start of the week was a rehash, and a shit one at that. So, come thursday, there are no funny stories on the board, people are waiting for the question to change and they end up chatting to pass the time. It doesn't "ruin" anything. And they certainly aren't trying to kill innocent people with automobiles.
