This is a question Happy 10th Birthday B3ta

Ten years ago today we launched B3ta (well the version of it you'd recognise). Happy birthday B3ta! As a special one off please add your memories of B3ta here. E.g. How you found the site, or an early thing you saw on the site, maybe the people you've met or how the community is/was part of your life.

It was Stevenson's fault. Jada.
Jada led me here, 9 years, 8 months and 22 days ago. The next few years saw some of the funniest stuff on the net come out of b3ta every day... I don;t think I ever made anything in that category, but I contributed plenty of chuckleworthy material at least.

I made a lot of good friends here, many of whom I subsequently met... some I still haven't after 7, 8, 9 years... Like many of them, I don't post often these days and haven't shopped anything for the board in yonks. But I wander by now and again.

I remember some of the early bashes in London... including the time rob managed to hire a corridor with a bar in it.

As some of us lost our hummus and mosied off to other messageboards to chat (this was pre-/talk), some of these distant acquaintances became very close friends. When I cracked up in 2007, a messageboard saved my life. (no fucking DJ's turned up, take note... messageboards are more use than DJs when you're losing it, no matter what the song says).

I made friends for life through b3ta, which makes it pretty special if you ask me.
