another occasion that springs to mind was again around that time period but fishing from the rocks at the base of holiday hill between lynmouth and the valley of the rocks very pleasant evening spent float fishing with a few small bites and then a couple of 7-8lb pollack didnt get to eat them fresh that evening but dinner the next day was a almost as good

as for rank eating? fishing of he rocks just past ilfracombe peir during the summer that year on very light gear and catching gar fish

a rather good catch and on light fishing gear can skip accros the sea on its tail but dear god dont try to eat it you can but you wouldnt want to once exposed to air the flesh turns green before your very eyes very of putting and pretty yukky on the flavor as well
