This is a question Books

Avoid: The Corrections, Jonathan Franzen
The worst sort of self-absorbed, upper-middle-class navel-gazing drek. Books awards should be treated like cold sores: don't pick up anything that has one.

I lived by that rule
until I read Cloud Atlas. I love it and it won, I'm ashamed to admit, the Richard and Judy award.

I feel sick.

Disagree
Of course there are books with awards that are dreadful, but some are are top notch. Wolf Hall and The White Tiger are both Booker winners, both top notch.
