This is a question Buses

We've got a local bus driver who likes to pull away slowly just to see how far old ladies with shopping trollies will chase him down the road. By popular demand - tell us your thrilling bus anecdotes.

Thanks to glued eel for the suggestion

Apologies for not being funny...
I was on my way home one day in the early 90's when I saw a bloke get hit by a bus outside St John's railway station. Caught him a goodun it did. He was about 30 I'd say (I was 21 at the time) and I went to see if I could help only to see the top of his spine sticking out through the side of his neck. I had about two seconds to hold his hand while his eyes glazed over and he went. Poor bastard. Don't suppose the bus driver forgot it easily either.

Yeah but..
You did the right thing. No one wants to go on their own, the idea frightens me more than most things...((hug))

Good on you for doing what you could, though.

ditto
all above.

I don't know if i would have the balls to hold onto a strangers hand if their spine was sticking out of their neck. I would have probably passed out and added to the problem. :S

kudos to you. that was brave.

don't get me wrong...
I was choking back my lunch and hoping against hope that he couldn't read in my face the utter utter horror I was seeing. I like to think the last thing he saw was my face and knew he wasn't dying on his jack but I doubt he could even feel my hand, having no spinal column any more. It haunted me for years and years and made me super wary crossing the road. And then some years later I read about a bus driver on the number 36 getting his eyes gouged out by some little cnut for daring to ask him to moderate his behaviour. I wouldn't be a bus/tube driver for a gold fucking clock.

What if...
...it was the biggest gold fucking clock ever made?

That's messed up
You did the right thing, as others have said, much kudos to you for it. I don't know how you managed to keep it together, something like that would completely freak me out!
