This is a question Conversation Killers

ThatNiceMan asks: Have you ever been talking with people down the pub when somebody throws such a complete curveball (Sample WTF moment: "I wonder what it's like to get bummed") that all talk is stopped dead? Tell us!

Monged out after party
We were having a late night conversation about our favourite DJ's, and those we had seen the most. Around 5am, and the usual out of body experiences happening all round.

Problem was, when it got round to me, I didn't really think too hard and said out loud - 'I've seen a lot of Cox'. Carl Cox.

Not so much kill the conversation, but people did find it hard to speak without giggling fits for a good 20 minutes.

Uncannily Similar story
My Brother in Law used to have a fruit and veg shop. We were talking about eating apples one day and my dad mentioned to him that "Cox's Orange Pippin" was the best apple for eating in his opinion. "Oh yes" , he replied "Especially if they have some size about them, the ladies that come into the shop always go for the big cox!" At that point he turned bright red and my sister and I were trying our damnedest not to laugh to save him further embarrassment.
