Supremely accurate, In keeping with the QOTW and desperately sad for us all at the same time.

It wasn't the goalkeeping error that cost us the finals. It was a year of underperforming, emotionless mediocrity spearheaded by a tactical amateur of a manager lacking ideas, belief and the support of both his players and the backroom staff.

I would like to call for the creation of a Great Britain tournament next year - consisting of all home nations who haven't made the finals (in other words - all of us). We could call it 'The fucking usless losers trophy'

At least I'd have something to watch next year...

and tuqueboy / writerblock...I always had my doubts about Scolari. Sure, he's an acomplished manager and wouldn't take any pansie-arsed shite from our bunch of delicate doilies, but he had too much of a sniff of mercenary about him. I don't think he would want what was best for the side, he'd go down the Sven line of shagging as many birds as possible over his big stack of FA cash. You could almost see the dollar signs in his eyes when he was being touted last time.

To Jeccy, and my other Welsh, Scottish and Irish friends. For what it's worth - If any of you had got through I would have supported you. It pains me to say bacause I am one of those 'Yay England, fuck everybody else' types, but I am in favour of national pride, performance and plain simple effort. Your teams have it in spades. If pride was rubber, the England team wouldn't have enough to make a flea's flip-flop.
