Got a hook in my cheek
Out fishing on New Years Day, partying on the shore and the fish are biting like they never have done.
There's 6 of us having a blast. My rod gets snagged. Instead of tightening the drag and pulling straight like every good angler knows, I just gave my rod a mighty heave. Hook comes loose, lands in cheek.
Fucking hurt pulling it out with pliers.

Length? It was a size 12 dry fly hook.

That hurts
same thing happened to me when I was a kid (although my Dad was the one fishing). Apparently the screaming could be heard three beats away.

before a braver girl than I! In my defense, I was only about 6! It was night fishing as well, so Dad had to hold the torch in his teeth while he simultaneously pinned me down and removed the hook. With the words "Let's not tell Mum, eh?"
No more night fishing trips for me!
