Tell us about the time the fairground came to town and you were sick in a hedge; or when you went to a theme park or circus and were sick in a hedge

I went to Alton Towers a couple of weeks ago....
Why did they ever get rid of the Black Hole? Or am I just remembering what was actually a shit ride, but I was just about 9 the last time I went on it?

I think it had just gone its lifespan
I remember going inside before it closed. it did look a bit dated and old.

It wasn't shit.
It was just an average rollercoaster hidden in a tent so that it was darkish. And with monstrous long queues with their own stage of crappy 1980s Butlins-style entertainers. And it smelled a bit like a teenage boys changing room.

Hang on ... maybe I mean "It was shit."

A fair assessment.
Also when are they going to update the video as you wait for Oblivion?

Nemesis is still the best ride there and what's all the fuss about Thirteen? We queued for fucking ages and it's the runaway mine train goes faster.

13 isnt about the speed - its all about the surprise.
I liked Rita. That genuinely imopressed me with the speed.

nemisis still rules though.

Air is pants.

Air was unique..hadn't been on it before.
Rita obviously starts well but not as good as Nemesis for my money.

Oblivion still gives that feeling of dread in the pit of your stomach but by the time you queue for a 10 second experience you're always left thinking is that it?

Kind of like having sex with me, yes.

That was closed when we went.
So we went on rita three times

Rita was closed when I went
which was disappointing

Yup
I agree with the average rollercoaster/Boys changing room part

There were two
The original one was not far from the corkscrew before they put dinosaurs all over it. It was massive and had no seat belts.

Once the tent was holier than a whore they ripped of the tent and called it 'the beast' it was a big green thing right next to the wild mouse ride. It wasn't there the last time I went.

The other one - which was there when I last went was near the Oblivion - it was smaller and had spacemen inside but not as good as the first one. I did like the station bit though it was like a buck rodgers 70's style space port - but shitter.

I love that place!

That's going back some years....
I knew I wasn't making that up. The Beast was great, wasn't there The Avalanche as well?

MouseTrap was like sitting in a shopping trolly being told "best of luck to you..." before being pushed off a cliff.

tell me about it!
see my earlier post - I rode the fucker dressed as a giant dog!

Ahh sorry missed that.
I think it was taken down before it fell down - if that didn't actually happen on year I think...

Wasnt the avalanche in Blackpool?
That was my first ever rollercoaster ride that
(, Tue 14 Jun 2011, 18:14, closed)
I stand corrected.
You're right it was. I seem to recall the weight of my Dad sitting behind me nearly crushed every rib.

I just winced in breathless pain for the entire experience.

I should probably edit that.
But nah fuck it.

The worst "wild mouse" ride
has to be the one at Blackpool - I went on that as a youngster and ended up with bruises all down my left side. I felt like I'd been in a rugby match it was that rough.

Remember it well.
Was like being punched by angry dwarves repeatedly.
