This is a question Helicopter Parents

Back when young ScaryDuck worked in the Dole office rather than simply queuing in it, he had to deal with a claimant brought in by his mum. She did all the talking. He was 40 years old.

Have you had to deal with over-protective parents? Get your Dad to tell us all about it.

Cleaning up.
My mother is incredibly helpful.

So helpful that, when she discovered I had a migraine on one occasion and was therefore in bed, she came around to my house (I lived fairly close by at the time), let herself in and started to hoover.

I asked her to stop. She told me that it would save me the bother. I pleaded with her to stop. She told me it wouldn't take long. I begged for her please to go away. She told me, tearfully, that I don't appreciate anything she's ever done for me.

And then she told me to get out of bed and go downstairs so that she could do upstairs as well. I refused. It didn't stop her. She hoovered upstairs - including my bedroom - anyway.

She's an idiot at times.

same here
I feel for you.

My Mum phoned me one day from work while I was off with the blinding migraine. I managed to answer the phone, but due to being blinded by migraine could not read who it was. Mother dearest proceeded to question me about how much of my work I had done before leaving (we worked in the same school!) and where was the stuff that I should have done? I became moderately abusive because when my migraine is that bad I lose control and thus told her, the waiting teacher and anybody else who could hear me screaming down the phone to "Fuck the hell Off and leave me the fuck alone!"

My boss found out what my Mother had done and had a harsh word with her about phoning staff who had been sent home sick.

Never ever, under any circumstances work with your parents if they are manipulative, over bearing control freaks. Have a click for not losing control fellow migraine dude.
