This is a question I'm going to Hell...

...because I said the Lord's Prayer backwards at a funeral to summon up the Goat of Mendes, Freddie Woo tells us. Tell us why you're doomed.

Thanks to Kaol for the suggestion

In the pub
I was a bit tiddly, and there was a large group of us, minus Paul who had a new bird we dont like. Later that evening he actually turned up, sans bird. We ridiculed him for hours about why he never came out any more, and what the fuck was she doing to him etc etc. He was getting quite wound up but kept his nerve.

After one fairly harsh verbal battering he gave in.

"LOOK! For fucks sake you bunch of fucking morons. She's got M.E. Thats why she cant come out, she's long term sick. You bunch of absolute wankers."

Stone. Cold. Silence.

Except for me. After 5 seconds, in a classic waving my bottle about drunkenly fashion, I slurred...

"Oh its all ME ME ME isnt it? Its not ME, its COS SHES A FUCKING LAZY BITCH who's destroying your life."

...etc. for about a minute.

Its been about 15 years and I still feel terrible.

yeah i enjoyed it
did they come and play in the audience? They came up to about 10 people down from us in the middle, and played a couple of songs.

They;re never going to be cool but the show was ace. Well done for finding the right venue!

yeah
i got that one from my friends all day...

yes they did, but we were really lucky anyway -originally we'd had tickets right up at the back, but my friend who's terrified of heights had a huuuge panic attack. so they moved us to fanclub seats, front row on level 1, which was amazing.

i thought he was a bit of a dull macrobiotic twat, but now i've decided i love him. will be going to the sep gig at lancashire cc i think. didn't realise you'd been already, oh well, back to the M E guilt trip!

front row
nice. I've got LCCC tickets as well but as I'll have a 3 month old baby by then, I've been told I aint going!

I changed my opinion of him when i saw an interview with him and Ricky Gervais on Youtube, he's very funny and the two of them get along rather well, and he's quick witted. I dont mind the guy. The great thing about the show was that they obviously love what they do, and that comes accross. Nothing worse than watching a band you like twiddling about on stage as if its a fucking priviledge to watch.

exactly
he came across as someone who really really loves performing. also they had simon pegg performing with them, he was playing the mouthorgan, which was quite amusing.

nah, take the baby with you i say, start them as you mean them to go on!

Oh Pegg
I like him, went to a 'Spaced' do once and he hung around for about 6 hours buying drinks. Great fella. Good idea about the baby, I have to educate them from an early age about live music. That could be a good intro. Not sure about Jay Z though, thats going to be interesting at what was largely a very middle class/of the road audience.

My guitarist
Was with his ex for five years.
She had ME. And so he wasn't allowed to go out.
Over those five years, other than band practices, I think he came out with us twice.
Poor sod.

15 years

genius.
im storing that for furure use... hoping somone apart from someone on britania high gets M.E
(, Mon 15 Dec 2008, 15:47, closed)
urgh
You do mean M.E as in Myaligic Encephalomyelitis (chronic fatigue syndrome) don't you?

Urgh - I bet he (and you) felt like a right bastard yeah?

I've had that. Worst thing ever! stuck in bed for 6 months pretty much - couldn't do anything couldn't go anywhere couldn't see anyone!

no wonder you felt bad.

Don't worry - I bet he's forgiven you for it.
And if he hasn't -
well okay you were a dick.
but life moved on and you're evidently still alive and if you're still mates with him then obviously he's decided to look past it.
So cheer up.
And maybe prepare your butt for hell.
